Technical Data Sheet

Lavanda Angustfolia

pianta prima

THE PLANT

Lavender is a hardy plant native to the Mediterranean basin. It thrives in sunny and windy conditions but is sensitive to water stagnation. It can withstand scorching temperatures and winter frosts as low as -20°C. It can also grow at altitudes of up to 1200 meters.

PLANTING

The optimal time to plant lavender is in spring (from March to June) or in autumn (from September to November). It reaches full development in about three years, with an average lifespan of 15-20 years.

CULTIVATION

Lavender does not require fertilization or irrigation systems unless necessary. It is recommended to keep the field clear of weeds and spread copper sulfate after cutting.

HARVEST

The flower production starts as early as the year after planting. Flowers are harvested in July and August. They are used in cosmetics and aromatherapy after the essential oil is extracted. They can also be dried to create little wardrobe perfume bags.
